£70,000 to £80,000 dependent on qualifications and experience

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and inspiring Director of Finance and Estates, with a strategic and innovative approach, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will manage key responsibilities to ensure strong strategic development with particular focus on finance, audit, risk management, ICT and estates.

 

About the role

Our Director of Finance and Estates should be an experienced accountancy professional (CIMA/ACA/ACCA/CIPFA) with outstanding leadership skills and a track record of success at senior level. Knowledge of the multi academy trust sector would be a bonus, and you must display a passion for making a difference to the education of our students.

 

You will take overall responsibility for the financial, corporate and commercial management of the trust. This will include leading the finance team, ensuring that all statutory accounts and returns are completed and submitted; and ensuring that systems are regularly reviewed to support this. You will also provide advice to the local governing committees and trust board; and oversee and lead on ICT, estates planning and health and safety arrangements across the Trust.

We are a small academy trust with three high schools and one primary school, crossing the local authority boundaries of Tameside and Rochdale.  We have ambitions to grow, and as we continue to develop as a Trust there will be plenty of opportunity for you to shape and progress the strategic direction of the services, whilst instilling a best practice approach in all that you do.
