Salary: Leadership Scale L29-35 (£93,902-£108,776) STPC
Are you looking for a role which will have a direct impact on the lives of young people cross Tameside and Rochdale?
We are looking for exceptional individual to join our Central Team as trust Director of Education. The post holder will have ambition, drive and vision and will subscribe to our values and cultures. They will lead our approach to academic improvements, working with our schools, managing our school improvements team and driving up standards to improve the academic outcomes in all of our academies. The post will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and be reportable to the Board of Trustees.

About our Trust
Great Academies Education Trust (GAET) is a multi-academy trust (MAT) currently comprising of four academies. We have ambition to grow in line with the Government’s agenda to increase schools supported through MAT’s. It is a really exciting time to join us!

About You
You will have a wide range of experience as a successful educationalist within a complex reporting environment. You will have an in depth understanding of current education policy and performance measures and the challenges associated with this. You will be able to translate education methods, data, trends and insights into usable information, presenting your work to key stakeholders in formats they will understand. Above all, you will have the passion to drive forward school improvement plans, supporting those who need to implement them.
You will be able to develop collaborative working relationships, prioritising your workload, particularly under pressure to meet deadlines. You will be a strong people manager, able to get the best out of your team and support them to contribute fully to the trust strategy.

You will have flexibility in your approach to work, working between the central office and schools. We operate a hybrid working model which includes working from home.

Application Process
Here are the stages you can expect from our recruitment process.
We accept applications on either the Great Academies Education Trust application form or via the online TES portal (Times Educational Supplement ).
We cannot accept CVs due to our child safeguarding responsibilities unless otherwise stated. The additional questions asked on the application forms ensure we fulfil those responsibilities.
Top tip: In the section of the application form titled ‘Skills, knowledge and experience’ we want you to tell us how your skills, knowledge and experience closely match the Job Description and Person Specification of the role you’re applying for. It’s tempting to tell us all about your current job and everything you’ve done previously too; but we’re really interested to hear how you meet the criteria for our job – the one you’re applying for.
Your application will be reviewed against the criteria outlined in the Person Specification by a Great Academies Education Trust selection panel; and applicants who best match the criteria will be shortlisted for interview.
Following the selection panel’s shortlisting process, you will receive notification on the outcome of your application.
If you’re shortlisted you’ll be invited to attend an interview with a Great Academies Education Trust selection panel. This may include undertaking any selection tests – for example giving a presentation .
Following the interview you will receive notification on the outcome of your interview and receive feedback on your interview.
If you have been successful, you will receive an email with your conditional offer of employment. Once this is accepted, you can agree your start date.
We’ll carry out the pre-employment screening (including references and other checks, such as DBS, if applicable). Once the checks have been completed, we will issue your contract and onboarding paperwork. These should be returned before your start date .
A formal induction takes place each term; and you will receive full support through your induction and the start of your Great Academies Education Trust journey .
